Blessing of Green Tara
All Tibetan thangkas should be blessed by a Tibetan Llama for continued great energy for the painting. I took advantage of a visit to Nelson, NZ of a Tibetan Llama shortly after completing the thangka. He sang Buddhist mantras and threw rice over it to bless the sacred image. In return, it is customary to give a gift. He loved the soft, plush towel and NZ merino socks, just perfect for the time of year and his visit.
